Northerly winds drive me away

I have escaped some Northerly winds which are not good for anchoring in New Quay by moving to Aberystwyth marina for a week. My step son Trystan helped crew, he did well and I really needed his help berthing in the river current here. Its a nice quiet marina with good access to the town and supermarkets.

Ffion, an ex driving school student of mine from many years ago is staying with me at the moment, it’s been great to catch up and socialise. We went swimming in the sea and been out for a sail outside the harbour. She is spending today with her parents ,  Penblwydd Hapus fam i Ffion  🥳🥳 (Happy Birthday to Ffions mum, in Welsh, or at least I hope it is, my Welsh is poor to non existant). Ffion will crew for me on the sail back to New Quay on Wednesday.

Dan Potter from New Quay Marine has kindly agreed to supervise me servicing the engine in the next week or two. I am looking forward to having an expert eye cast over the engine and I am sure I will learn a lot under his instruction. I have serviced car engines before and know the basics, this is going to give a massive confidence boost when servicing or fixing faults during my travels.
